For business owners
How it works What happens on a recording day, how your business is paid, and what is recorded.
AI companies, the ones behind apps like ChatGPT, are learning how real skilled work is done. They pay us for video of normal work, recorded from the worker's point of view on a small camera worn on the head. We pay your business for each worker who wears a camera. Nothing about your work changes.

Who we are
Ashbury Labs is operated by Augment Inc., a US company backed by Y Combinator, at 6113 Monte Cristo Ln, Plano, TX 75024, USA.
AI companies want their AI to understand how skilled work actually happens, in factories, in workshops and on job sites: how experienced people set up machines, measure, assemble, install and repair, seen from the worker's own eyes.
The day, the sections and the pay are agreed with you in writing. On every recording day, our colleague is on site the whole time.
A recording day, step by step
We agree the day in writing
The date, the start time and which sections may be recorded, agreed with you on WhatsApp.
The cameras arrive
Our colleague arrives at that time with the cameras, small cameras on a head strap, and shows your team how they are worn.
Who wears a camera
We agree with you how many workers wear cameras, in the section you choose. Each one chooses to, and signs a short consent form. You sign a one-page site agreement with your business name, address and GSTIN.
Normal work, normal breaks
Workers do their normal work and take breaks whenever they like. The camera is paused during breaks.
We stay all day
Our colleague stays on site the whole time and checks a short piece of the video after the first hour.
The cameras leave with us
At the end of the day our colleague collects the cameras. You can see what was recorded before they leave.
How and when you're paid
Your business gets
₹200
per worker for every hour recorded
- Paid to your business by UPI the day after recording.
- Your site agreement puts it in writing: the day after each recording day, and no later than 2 working days after it.
- If the project continues, it is the same ₹200 for every hour recorded, for each worker who wears a camera, over several months. We agree it with you in writing before it starts.
- No cost to you. We bring the cameras and everything needed.
For example: 4 workers each wear a camera for 5 recorded hours. That is 20 hours, so your business gets ₹4,000.
What is recorded, and what is not

- Only in the sections you approve
Not recorded

- Never published. The video is not posted online or used in ads. It is licensed to AI companies to train their systems, together with video from many other businesses.
- You decide. You choose the sections and the days. Each worker decides for themselves, and nobody has to wear a camera. You or any worker can stop at any time by telling our colleague on site or messaging us.
The full terms are in your site agreement and on our privacy page.
